One year after the world's first laser-driven RedPoint Sound Tours, another remarkable sound meeting took place - again in the north of Israel, on Friday, June 10th - called the "Rainbow Sound Tours" event.
This time, advantage was taken of the culturally rich landscape of Israel: Hebrew and Arabic songs and musical exercises of other musical styles from an advanced inter-cultural music class led by Dr. Igal Myrtenbaum has been the basis for an interactive exploration of touchp(o)ints across the board.
5 touchp(o)int Sound Palettes covered the following experiences:
1. "Latset mimeni" - Meeting of Hebrew songs
2. "Ramifications" - Meeting of Arabic songs
3. "Piece process" - Mengeling Hebrew and Arabic songs
4. "Rainbow" - Mengeling a 12-tone piano piece with a Brazilian, Hebrew, and an Arabic song
5. "Sound paintings" - Mixing of 2 collages using noise sounds
Looking beyond the personal and cultural borderlines through music can be a great experience and help to bring people together: the creators, the "sound painters" with the lasers, and last but not least - the listeners!
Here you can see a nice video report on the Sound Tours session:
